The UK’s only museum of film history and filmmaking, created with the backing of major studios, distributors and industry professionals, is currently home to the largest collection of James Bond vehicles used by 007 on film! Your students will be left shaken and stirred by the 'Bond in Motion' exhibition, which features over a hundred original cars, boats, bikes and gyrocopters from the film series, together with scripts and never-before-seen concept art and storyboards.

 

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter

Step onto authentic sets, discover the magic behind spellbinding special effects and explore the behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter™ film series. Tread the original stone floor of the iconic Hogwarts Great Hall, encounter animatronic creatures and wander down Diagon Alley. Located at the Studios where all eight films were produced.

Sky Up Academy

Sky Up Academy Studios is an immersive learning experience that places young people centre stage as media creators.  

At their bespoke TV studios, your students will use cutting-edge digital technology to create their own content. Students will work in small teams, taking on real-life media roles to create a news report or trailer. Working alongside a team of experts, they will see their ideas come to life.

A visit to Sky Up Academy Studios will give your class a VIP peek behind-the-scenes at Sky, helping develop their confidence and build essential skills like Creativity, Communication and Collaboration.

City Academy Filmmaking Workshop

Filmmaking (90 mins) - During this fascinating workshop, your students will gain an insight into what it’s like to work in the film industry. All tutors are working industry professionals and can instruct on storyboarding, cinematography, camera, lighting and sound. This is a hands-on, practical teaching session however each student will have limited access to equipment during a 90-minute session. 

 

Wimbledon – Marketing an Attraction

Includes a guided tour of the grounds, museum entry & a talk (3 hours)
This fascinating visit offers students an intriguing insight into the marketing machine behind the world’s most coveted title in tennis. Students will gain an understanding of the unique relationship between the Club and the Championships and discover the opportunities and constraints that this presents in promoting a year-round attraction. During the talk, students will have the opportunity to evaluate current marketing materials produced by the museum however your lecturer can tailor your discussion to suit the specific learning objectives of your group on request.

 

Madame Tussauds

The world of the Media is a creative and inspiring one, where ideas combine with drama, excitement and humour to keep us entertained and engaged. A fully interactive experience, Madame Tussauds will inspire, enthuse and immerse pupils in celebrity culture and modern media as they walk among the stars!

Guardian Foundation

Learn about the history of the Guardian newspaper with a workshop that’s designed to complement the National Curriculum and can be tailor-made to suit your particular requirements. Delivered by experienced teachers, workshop topics include ‘Opinion Writing’, ‘Feature Writing’ and 'The Future of News’. Workshops must be booked directly with the Guardian - early booking is highly recommended in order to avoid disappointment.

 

The Museum of Brands

The Museum of Brands encourages visitors to discover how well-loved brands have evolved through creative use of packaging and advertising and how we, the public, have evolved with them. The permanent Time Tunnel exhibition explores how daily life has changed since the Victorian times and offers a view of the culture and lifestyle of our parents and grandparents. A regular rotation of temporary exhibitions put special moments in history into the spotlight and showcase the cutting edge of contemporary branding, packaging and advertising. 

A range of engaging curriculum-linked workshops for KS2-5 are also available to cover numerous topics including product development, brand evolution, customer profiling and sustainability.

A West End show is a magical and unforgettable experience and a must for groups visiting the city! Catch a show at one of the capital's famous theatres with tickets to an array of award-winning plays and spectacular musicals, including the Lion King and Wicked!

Wembley Stadium Tour

Soak up the history of one of the world's most iconic venues during this 90-minute tour. Take your picture in Europe's largest press conference room, find the shirt of your favourite England player in the dressing rooms, and line up in the players tunnel before following in the footsteps of legends and walking out pitch-side.

However, there are also many students who have gone beyond using it for personal gain and seeing how it can help them with their studies and also build careers. Changing the mindset from using social media as a hobby to using it professionally is something that Andrew Davis (Trainer) has done. He has helped many students over the years and will help you in this 90 minute workshop.

Media Studies
This workshop will show you a very simple strategy in identifying the people you want to communicate with and getting them to engage with your content by understanding how film scripts work. Storytelling is the success for media online and this workshop will show you how to do that.

Science / Maths / Computer Science
This workshop not only shows you what works from a creative point of view put also strips away what you see on Snapchat/Instagram and more and goes under the engine to show you the science and maths behind how these platforms decide who sees what content.

Business Studies
This workshop shows you the business end of social media and how companies are using it to make money, acquire customers and keep existing ones. Understanding how business works online is what all organisations are trying to achieve and this workshop will show you how it is done.

ITV Daytime Studios Tour

As one of the busiest working studios in the UK, producing over 2,000 hours of much talked about TV a year, guests have unprecedented access into the day-to-day operations of a live studio with stories and filming insights from the studio floors shared with them along the way.

With the promise of plenty of picture and selfie opportunities on the well-loved and instantly recognisable sets, a wander down the production corridors where the green rooms, wardrobe departments, make-up areas and production offices are housed, as well as walking amongst industry producers and crew, each tour will be full of TV magic.
