Coventry University required a group travel package to the tripoint of Hungary, Austria and Slovakia where students could develop their intellectual and professional skills valued by employers whilst improving their powers of reason, judgment, critical thinking, analysis problem-solving, and media production.

StudyLink created an 8-day study tour package to Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava, enabling students to explore the political, cultural, social and environmental history of the 19th and 20th century in central Europe.

Custom-made 8-day itinerary to Vienna, Budapest & Bratislava

Day 1 - Arrive in Bratislava

After boarding an evening flight to Bratislava, the group was met by our coach provider for transportation to their accommodation.

Staying at the Hotel Sorea Bratislava, the group was situated in Bratislava's old town underneath Bratislava Castle and offer Danube River views.

Day 2 - Guided tour of Bratislava

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then met at the hotel reception for a confirmed guided tour of Bratislava pre-arranged by StudyLink and conducted by Jarka Rakoczyova.

A tour of Bratislava offers students the opportunity to explore the city’s past and visit where the first settlement was built within the territory of today´s Bratislava. The authentic tour provides insight and possible explanations of myths, legends and mysteries of old Bratislava.

Day 3 - Guided tour of Primates Palace

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then met at the hotel reception for a confirmed guided tour of Primates Palace pre-arranged by StudyLink and conducted by Jarka Rakoczyova.

The Primate’s Palace is described as one of the most beautiful neoclassical buildings in Slovakia. Portraits of Hungarian rulers are exhibited in the picture gallery paired with an impressive collection of six tapestries. The palace's Hall of Mirrors saw the signing of the fourth Peace of Pressburg, ending the War of the Third Coalition.

 

Day 4 - Arrive in Vienna & Schönbrunn Palace

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then checked-out of the accommodation and travelled by coach to Meininger Hotel Vienna Central Station. Once checked-in, group made their way to Schönbrunn Palace for a confirmed visit.

Schönbrunn Palace is one of Austria’s most important cultural assets, and since the 1960s has been one of Vienna’s major tourist attractions, drawing millions of visitors each year. Students can wander through the imperial Great Gallery to the majestic Blue Staircase admiring an array of portraits and Baroque architecture.

Day 5 - Group-planned activity

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group then chose to arrange their own activities for the day including meals and transport, however StudyLink can pre-book visits, dinner reservations and transport tickets.

 

Day 6 - Arrive in Budapest

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group checked-out of the accommodation and travelled by coach to Hotel Fortuna, Budapest. 

Free time was scheduled for students to explore the nearby area and taste the local cuisine.

Day 7 - House of Parliaments Visitor Centre

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group made travelled to the House of Parliament Visitor Centre for a confirmed visit.

House of Parliament Visitor Centre is open for students to browse through the building’s decorative halls, lobbies and grand stairway to capture a glimpse of Hungary’s political history.

 

Day 8 - Return to Birmingham Airport

Continental breakfast served at the hotel, group were met by our coach provider at their accommodation and travelled to M. R. Štefánik Airport, arriving at Birmingham Airport.
